Configuring DNS for E-mail & Web |
|
|
This course teaches you how to configure your DNS so your e-mail and Web site work correctly. This includes getting your reverse DNS right. It covers advanced topics, such as supporting multiple e-mail and Web servers and innovative ways to achieve fault-tolerance for your DNS. The concepts presented in this course are generic - that is, they apply to any DNS server running on any OS platform. However, the course will focus on BIND and Tinydns running on Linux and Unix. There will be a Windows 2000 server running Microsoft DNS on hand if you need to see how things are done with Windows but no significant time will be spent on Windows DNS. PrerequisitesYou should have a basic understanding of computers, computer networking, and IP addressing. ALC's IP, Subnetting, and CIDR course or the equivalent experience is useful. You do not need to have detailed knowledge of DNS beforehand. |
