Intro To MySQL

MySQL is the most popular Open Source database engine. It's used in the vast majority of Web sites that are based on the Open Source Apache Web server and require database access. This course covers the installation, configuration, and maintenance of MySQL.

Note that this course does not cover the details of the Structured Query Language (SQL) that MySQL uses. This is covered in ALC's Intro To SQL course. Unless you already know SQL, you would attend both courses. The order in which you attend these two courses is not critical but attending the Intro To SQL course first is best.

Prerequisites

You should have a basic understanding of computers and computer networking. You do not need to have detailed knowledge of MySQL or database technology beforehand. ALC's Intro To SQL course is the natural followup to this course.
